Special Project Content Creator (IDN Program)

Under the direction of the IDIN Special Project Managers and in conjunction with the Greater Peoria Manufacturing Network (GPMN), the Special Project Content Creator will assist in the execution of the marketing plan for the IDN Program by creating and distributing all necessary digital and print content. This person will work alongside the GPEDC Marketing Specialist who will ensure the maintenance of organizational branding and provide technical guidance with GPEDC marketing software and online platforms.  This grant-funded program-specific position is contractual from hire date through December 31, 2019.

About the Program:

The Illinois Defense Network (IDN) Program brings together stakeholders from industry, government, and academia to strengthen Illinois’ defense resilience.  GPEDC manages this program in the Greater Peoria region as a sub-grantee of the University of Illinois.

Job Description and Qualifications

Wage & Hours: $45 per hour, 7-10 hours per week

Employment Term:Short-term, Contractual; March 2019 – December 31, 2019

Reports To: IDIN Program Managers, GPEDC Marketing Specialist


Overall Responsibilities:

– Convert program data and analysis into useful marketing materials for digital and print distribution

– Utilize GPEDC and GPMN online platforms to distribute materials as needed

– Write and post stories to program website

– Create content as needed to update and improve program website

– Regularly share content via social media channels

– Maintain program and GPEDC brand consistency with all marketing materials

– Create presentation materials for program events

– Attend events as needed to capture basic photo/video content


Skills Required:

– Graphic design (Adobe Creative Cloud)

– Working knowledge of social media platforms

– Familiarity with WordPress

– Familiarity with G-Suite tools

– Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues

– Creative problem solving & critical thinking

– Task-oriented & self-motivated

– Time management and organization



– Associates Degree or higher with a demonstrated focus in marketing, graphic design, content creation, or related field

– 2-3 years experience working professionally in a similar role
