Precision Technology Group opened their new 2,000 square foot storefront in August in downtown Metamora, expanding their team to a total of five. They are a dealer for DIRECTV, Boost Mobile, Exede satellite internet, and an array of home theater technology.
Owner Rick McDonald first got involved in technology as an employee of Heart Technologies in Peoria, but after the tornados tore apart the town of Washington, he derailed his career to follow a passion in construction to help with home renovations. Once those needs were coming to completion, McDonald decided to pursue his dream of operating a home technology company.
McDonald reports that he was in the Metamora Town Hall and noticed a brochure that offered financial assistance to small businesses through cooperation of the Greater Peoria EDC and the Village of Metamora. He contacted Sally Hanley with the Greater Peoria EDC, who was instrumental in helping him get the business off the ground with a five-year, low interest loan that was quick and easy to qualify for.
“Sally helped us get through all the paperwork and if it wasn’t for her, we would not be in business today”, stated McDonald. “They took care of the things they know how to do and that freed me up to take care of the things that I know how to do. Working with the Greater Peoria EDC made the entire process much faster and much less painful.”
Precision Technology Group is located at 107 East Partridge Street in Metamora. They are open Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
